HISTORY

Review the following sites created by Joseph W. Dauben about the history of the development of perspective. Then,  as a group, answer these discussion questions. You may work together to formulate your answers. Be sure to look at the Renaissance examples of use of perspective in painting and architecture on the websites.

Discussion Questions:

a. Why was linear perspective developed? What were artists trying to accomplish?

b. Why was this important to artists? To architects? Why would it also be important to scientists and engineers?

c. How are the principles of perspective used in media, such as photographs and film?
